Roll
A bun stuffed with some sort of seafood salad, for example, a "lobsta roll." Often served on Massachusetts frankfurt buns, which look like they've been turned inside out (i.e., the outside of the bun is as white as the inside).
I think those buns are actually cooked together and sliced, giving the white outsides.
I worked at DeNo's in Westie (West Roxbury) and we did indeed use those buns for clam rolls. Yum!

trying to find somewhere to buy the top sliced, no crust old fashioned buns used for clam/lobster rolls in new england area. the kind you butter on the outside and toast. Live in Florida, any one have any leads? Found one bakery in the New England area but the cost is 19.95 for a pack.
