Two more to add to the list:

Yuh fahgut "Muthah" and "Mummy."

When I was foah and growin' _up in Lowell, I said, "Mummy, Mummy, I sittin' in a pile ah ants." My muthah then said, "Get ahda theah."

When I joined the army and fellow soldiers started poiinting out that I had a wicked accent, I started to realized that most of America says: "mahtherrrrrr and mahmmy."

You got it al wrong!!!!! To Mush is to grab the back of a car or T bus at a red light when there is snow on the ground. Then to "Mush" behind it.

Mush is what we called kids from Nonantem. And it wasn't a pet name, it was quite a mean thing to call someone a mush kid.

I agree with the use of the term Mush as a way to get a ride on the back of a cah or bus in the snow. A mush in Nonamtum may be correct too. When I was a kid in the 70's and 80's, when there was snow on the streets, we used to go up behind cahs that had stopped at intersections or red lights, crouch down low so the drivah couldn't see ya, grab on to the bumpa and hold on tight with your legs stiff almost like watah ski-in. MBTA buses were also good for this 'caus the drivah couldn't see ya. Walk up to the back, open the engine door and hold on. I got to school all the time in the winta like that. Saved my bus money so I could play cahds or get somthin at the spa. Can you imagine that now though? Ya'd go to jail. Everyone musta been wickid high!

If you call somebody you dont know "mush", its definitely a dig and maybe even fightin words. But on the other hand if you call your friend "mush", its just like buddy or pal.

Mushing -- can't believe we were ever dumb enough to do that. I'd forgotten about it till I saw it here. Grab a bumper and go for a ride in the snow.

Man, were we retards.
