"Cool kid" is a real, true term. Not just in Acton. Going to high school in Marshfield only three years ago, it was very common.

This ties in with boston humor a lot. when i was in California i was at a wicked lame party and some guy was yappin away on his cell so i turned to the chick next to me and say "jeezuz who brought the cool kid." she looked at me like i had five heads. they not only dont get the phrase but dont get sarcasm.

This was a very popular phrase in highschool, often for people whose cell phones would ring in class. Now I'm out in Ohio and nobody gets anything - much less humor.

we used this term out in Boylston in the late 90's and into 01 during high school.... cool kids were definetly unwanted

I forgot all about the cool kid. The beauty of the cool kid is that often, he doesn't know what it means. It makes being cool painful.
