A bit more detail on the Blue Line thing. These cah's known also as the 01400 series were built in 1963 and used exclusively on the Ashmont - Hahvahd (Harvard) line until they were rebuilt in the 1980's and painted red. At that point they ran anywhere on the Red Line outside of the Mattapan Ashmont section. They were retired from service in 1994.
