Sarcastic Sam reports:

Just heard on the radio that FBI is searching for a dirty bomb in Boston...supposedly another FBI office had a lead that someone was trying to detonate a DB in Boston...hmmm should I ask to go home early?

WTF is up with that?

Bostonherald.com says:

Boston terror threat probed

Federal and state authorities are investigating a nuclear terrorist threat against Boston after a man calling from Mexico told California police that he smuggled two Iraqis and four Chinese over the border, the Boston Herald has learned. ...

Thebostonchannel.com adds:

MEMA Placed On Standby Status
State Safety Officials Meeting At Bunker

And boston.com says, well, it's hard to say what boston.com says because they've launched their redesign and so the main story keeps changing every 30 seconds, but it looks like they don't have anything at all about this story, at least as I type this around 4:30 p.m.

Please!
This is uncorroborated and there is ZERO data that a so-called "dirty" bomb is implicated by the "tip."

Why the hell the "authorities" pass such non-information on is a mystery. Unless it's just all politics as usual.

The cops I know say the news went from the Boston Terror Task Force to the BPD, then to the BPD troops, and then to the media.

When the media get hold of something like that, it's Sell Advertising! time. Listening to the authorities, it sounds like they're trying to get everyone to relax; this is more or less routine.
