Harry and Yatsze are driving up I-93 today and as they get past the Randolph exits they drive around a ladder lying on the road:

... [I]n my rear view mirror, I saw the car that was a few car lengths behind us on the right hit the ladder, thinking in their split-second of reacting that they might be able to drive over it safely. The smoke that immediately came from their front wheel showed that that was not correct. A couple more cars slammed into the abruptly-stopped ladder-hitter, and they pinwheeled across lanes to either side. A black SUV hit one of these cars and did a sideways flip onto its roof. All this Yatsze and I saw in our rear view mirrors, playing out silently. ...
