Is Boston ready for a 67-story tower?

The Globe reports on a 10-acre mega-project proposed for that wasteland of offramps and rail yards where the turnpike and I-93 come together. Part of the plan is a 67-story building (the story doesn't make it clear whether that would be an office building, residential space or both).
On the one hand, what better place to put a "mini-city" like that right next to South Station? Subways, buses and Amtrak all come together there. And downtowns thrive on density - what better way to make Boston's downtown even more vibrant than something like this? On the other hand, what worse place to put a project like that then right on top of the interchange of downtown's two major highways - can you imagine how many more drivers that would bring into the Big Sieve?
