The Blizzard of '05

Pow! That was some storm. Dare we suggest it will finally make people shut up about the Blizzard of '78? Here are some photos from one Roslindale block.
Our neighbors make sure nobody parks on their cars:

It doesn't look it, but this was one treacherous hill:

Sorry,
I was there in 1978, working in Seabrook, N.H. that night. I got stuck at work till the second day after the blizzard by the way. The photo of the 2 foreign cars with snow half way up the doors says it all. My 1970 Ford galaxie was completely covered up to the hood and once I cleared around it and opened the hood to clear the snow that had blown in behind the grille I found the engine compartment completely packed with wind driven snow. The imprint of the bottom side of the hood was in the snow. The drifts were so high around the buildings at work that the end of one of the warehouses was completely covered. That roof was 18 feet high. The 78 storm also covered a LOT more territory than this one did, all the way to Ohio.
It was still a powerful storm, but not quite enough to dethrone the mother of all blizzards.
