Where to stay

Downtown and Back Bay are basically the heart of Boston.

Downtown features Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Freedom Trail, Haymarket, Downtown Crossing and large parts of the waterfront. Back Bay is where you'll find Newbury Street, Copley Square, the Prudential Center and Copley Place malls and easy access to the South End.

But one of Boston's advantages is its compact size: You're not really far away from anything regardless of where you stay.
